Anchorvale Community Club Water Park.

This particular water park gives me insight on how a water park need not necessarily be just about swimming pools, but how the essence of a water Theme park can be integrated. Such as slides and other water features.

After visiting this site, I understand that my design is not functional because there is the lack of minor details such as changing rooms that would allow my site to be functional. Hence I will be inclined to improve upon that form now on.

 NEX Rooftop Water Play Area

From this site, I found something interesting that I may implement into my design. That would be that a wtaer play area need not be all swimming pools or water bodies. It could coexist with a playground such as the one NEX has created. They use elements of water and throw it into a normal neighborhood playground with a rubbery floor.

In all, after visiting these 2 sites, I have come to understand that I have to begin thinking of the smaller details such as toilets or locker systems for my site to be fully functional. Hence, I will work closely with my swot analysis of both sites and often compare them to my own design. Also, putting myself in the shoes of a user of the site will come to mind now everytime I edit my design. By going out to visit actual sites, we become the users of the site. Looking at both sites and comparing them to my design, I have come to an agreement that my design should not entirely be covered by shelter because it takes away the element of sun. Now i have a clearer understanding of what someone experiences when he/she is in a water park.

  1. PW: Good job and reflection of your own site visits. I look forward to see how you will integrate the new ideas into your own project.
